‘Super Follows’ is a new feature by Twitter that will allow content creators to earn monthly revenue by charging their followers for access to additional content, such as bonus tweets. They can also create an extra level of conversation to interact with their most engaged followers.

This feature is for anyone who can drive the public conversation – activists, journalists, musicians, content creators, gamers, beauty experts, comics, sports enthusiasts – basically anyone with their unique perspectives and personalities. Their everyday tweets, messages, photos, and videos will resonate with their audience and open conversations on Twitter.

How does it work?

Content Creators can:

  • Choose to show separate content to their paid and unpaid followers.
  • Mark some of their tweets as ‘subscribers-only’ and monetize that content.
  • Set the value of the content at one of three price points: $2.99, $4.99, or $9.99 per month.
  • Continue to reach their unpaid follower base through regular tweets.

Twitter will take only a 3% cut of earnings for up to the first $50,000 generated through Super Follows, after which, Twitter will begin taking a 20% cut.

Super Followers can:

  • Follow their preferred Twitter accounts for a monthly subscription fee.
  • Get exclusive access to content.
  • Join conversations that only other subscribers can see and reply to.

BONUS: Superfollowers will receive badges that are highlighted when they reply to a creator’s Tweet. This will distinguish them from unpaid followers.
