CLH Foundation needed to transform their largest annual fundraising event into a virtual event with video, music, and a live broadcast. With the help of the Y SMB Division’s creative team, the event was more successful than imagined and told the inspiring stories of the people supported by this vital organization.

Transforming an in-person fundraiser into a thriving virtual event

For the past 10 years, the Community Living Huronia Foundation has organized a gala to raise money and awareness of the services they provide to individuals in North Simcoe with developmental support needs. The money raised by this Red Carpet event directly supports the work of CLH Foundation and is one of their most important sources of funding. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was decided that the 2021 event should be held, but would be a virtual one. CLH Foundation approached Y to create video content for the event: A Red Carpet Evening – A Night of Story and Song #TogetherAtHome Edition.

/solution

Developing emotional, triumphant, and impactful videos for an online broadcast

In keeping with government mandates during the pandemic, client meetings were held via Zoom. The theme of the event was decided upon, and the messaging was fine tuned. The theme that emerged was the #TogetherAtHome story of the pandemic: the impact, the struggles, the strengths, and the triumph. The videos were filmed with stringent safety protocols in place, ensuring the safety of everyone involved and keeping within public health guidelines. Liaising with the client’s chosen Production company, editing was completed and uploaded on time and on message.

/outcome

A record number of people watched A Red Carpet Evening – A Night of Story and Song, the #TogetherAtHome Edition from the comfort of their own homes. These videos shared different perspectives of the work being done by CLH throughout the pandemic.
